Whiplash Specialist in Centennial

Chiropractic Centennial CO whiplash

Whiplash injuries are serious. They can severely impact your quality of life. I'm ready to help.

My name is Dr. Tony Nicholas, founder and head of Axis Health and Wellness in Centennial. As a chiropractor in Centennial, CO, I have tremendous experience with whiplash and other injuries sustained from automotive accidents and similar situations. While some doctors are quick to dismiss whiplash injuries as not life threatening and therefore unimportant, I know just how much they can complicate your life and cause harm well beyond the physical pain.

Centennial, CO whiplash patients that I treat share a number of problems that they face, such as:

  • Pain in one or both arms sometimes described as throbbing pain and sometimes described as very sharp (acute) pain
  • Migraines and headaches that fluctuate in levels of pain and time of appearance
  • Back pains that start in the lower back and radiate up and down the back in various areas
  • Difficulty getting to sleep or difficulty staying asleep
  • "Short fuse" temperament and rapid escalation of feelings of frustration and anxiety
  • Inability to work effectively, resulting in the use of vacation days or missing pay

I have more than a decade of experience handling whiplash in Centennial, CO.
I know what it's like to have your life turned upside down - often of absolutely no fault of your own. When injuries from car accidents happen, they are never convenient. They never stick to a schedule. Recovery is also tricky because it is different for each person.

My unique specialization makes me the preferred choice of whiplash patients in Centennial.
Not all chiropractors are the same. In fact, many "traditional" chiropractors struggle to properly address problems like whiplash. This isn't a result of an incapable doctor. Instead, the problem lies in specialization.

As a BioPhysics specialized chiropractor, I have taken additional training and mastered specific techniques that provide tremendous support to whiplash patients and people who suffer from similar car accident injuries. In fact, many personal injury attorneys in Centennial consider me the "go to" doctor for their clients because of the fantastic results that I am able to bring through my focus on restoring the proper curves in the spine.

Why spinal curvature is SO important in whiplash cases
Many "traditional" chiropractors focus their time with a whiplash patient on restoring alignment from the spine to the skull. This is achieved through what you commonly associate with chiropractors: the quick "snap" and "crack" motions that forcefully move the bones back into alignment.

Unlike these other doctors, I am a master of the biophysics chiropractic methodology. As a result, I look to the three curves that SHOULD be in the spine. When these three curves measure appropriately, your body is most likely to be out of pain and for you to feel healthy. When the curvature is diminished through things like trauma (such as whiplash), it destroys your body's natural balance.

If you have lower back pain after suffering from whiplash, for instance, you will unconsciously change your walking gait to mitigate the pain. While this may feel better in the short term, you are actively diminishing spinal curvature because your body is out of balance. You are actually doing more harm to your body because your spine and central nervous system have to accommodate this unnatural change in walking, sitting, and laying positions. Many whiplash patients start to feel pain diagonal to their primary pain. If you start with lower back pain on the left side, your change in positions to reduce the pain you feel will actually start causing your right upper back to hurt because of the changes you are making that impact the proper curvature of your spine.

Here's how you can get pain relief
As a chiropractor in Centennial, Co, I've worked with many patients dealing with whiplash. It isn't easy to deal with the rapid changes in your life, but I want you to know that I have a path and a plan to help you get back on track.

Our first step is a simple one. I need you to use the form below to request an appointment in my office. During that time, we will discuss what happened, what your symptoms are, and how I think we can progress, together. If we are a good fit, I will complete a set of tests to get to the root of the problem. From that point, I will go over your profile with you so that you are aware of exactly where the issues are. At this time, I will be ready to help you with a customized care plan focused on first relieving your pain and then addressing the root of the issue. By the time your care plan is completed, you should be out of pain and feeling better than before your accident even happened.

I look forward to working with you. Getting my neighbors near Centennial out of pain and back to their lives is my passion.
