Nutritional Counseling Centennial, CO
- Personalized Nutrition Guidance
- Practical Healthy Eating Plans
- Whole-Body Wellness Support
Nutritional counseling at Axis Health and Wellness in Centennial starts with a wellness survey to know your symptoms, your struggles, and your goals. Dr. Tony Nicholas will build your plan based on your answers, ship the products to your door, and create an account on a website and an app to tell you what to do each day. No guessing.
With Dr. Tony’s counseling, nothing is generic. You might have read articles about food that’s good now and the one is bad again. Then, you bought something because a headline recommended it. But you never used it.
The problem isn’t the information. Rather, the information isn’t written for you. It’s not designed for what you’re dealing with. No one hands you a list of what to do today. Enter nutritional counseling with Dr. Tony.
Why a Chiropractor Cares What You Eat
A chiropractor cares what you eat because the results show up in the treatment room in how fast people get better.
During your evaluation, Dr. Tony will estimate how long your case will take to resolve based on the length of time the problem has existed and your age. But your overall health is also reviewed. Everything is considered, whether you carry extra weight, eat well, or the current shape of your body. Two people can have different plans even if they are of the same age and have the same complaint. The diet can play a huge role.
This philosophy fits how the entire office thinks. That is, the body has the ability to heal itself if you provide it with the right way to grow and repair. Adjustments, decompression, and SoftWave therapy can stimulate the process. Then, nutrition will supply the body with the raw material. You can choose one over the other, but it won’t offer the best results.
“I am a true believer in whole body health. My mission is to help as many people with as many conditions as I possibly can without drugs or surgery.”
Dr. Tony Nicholas, D.C.The Importance of a Wellness Survey
You must fill out a wellness survey first before a nutritional plan is recommended. This survey covers your symptoms, what you’re struggling with, and what your goal is. This last part carries more weight because a plan will be built on your goal. That’s why it’s different from someone who wants to stop craving something from a person who wishes to manage an arthritic condition.
It’s only after you know what’s going on with you, your symptoms, and where you wish to end up that a plan is built. It’s designed around your goals, instead of being pulled up randomly.
What We Build Plans for
Nutrition plans are tailored to the patient’s complaints. The most common are:
- Nutritional gaps and deficiencies
- Weight goals
- Neuropathy support
- General energy and daily wellbeing
- Gut health and digestive complaints
- Arthritic conditions
- Recovery and healing support
- Long-term wellness care
If what you want to achieve isn’t on that list, we can still help based on your answers from the survey.
Nutrition is a Vital Part of the Neuropathy Plan
In neuropathy care, nutrition isn’t optional. It’s part of a structured program.
Neuropathy is a progressive condition that causes nerve damage and slowly start to die. The most common reason is diabetes. Dr. Tony treats it with a three-point approach. Nutrition is one of the three legs:
- Electrical stimulation to retrain the nerves to fire again correctly.
- Red light therapy to boost blood flow so nutrients can deliver the proper nutrients to the nerves
- Nutrition gives the nerves what they need to repair. Because most cases are caused by diabetes, nutrition carries a lot of weight.
Blood flow without proper nutrition doesn’t offer results. This is the reason nutrition isn’t an option here. It’s a must.
How It Works from Start to Finish
- You answer the survey that will ask you about your symptoms, struggles, and goals
- You and Dr. Tony will go through your answers properly. It’s not a form review. So, you need to be honest.
- A plan will be built based on what you told him.
- Your nutritional products get shipped directly to your doorstep. It means you don’t have to go and buy them.
- A site and an app will be set up that walk you through the plan each day. This will help you know what you must be doing day by day.
The App is the Main Point
Most nutrition plans fail because they’re not structured. You won’t know what to do or take on day nine. Hence, you stop on day 14.
The website and app give you complete control. They tell you what to do exactly every day. It doesn’t matter how your day is going. The instructions are right there for you to see.
It follows the same philosophy behind our neuropathy care, where the majority of the treatment happens at home. Consistency produces results in the long run. It’s a system’s problem first before it’s a willpower issue.
What Nutritional Counseling Is Not
- It’s not a crash diet. The plan isn’t built around extreme restrictions or quick results.
- It’s not a cookie-cutter program. A plan is different for each patient.
- It’s not a replacement for your medical doctor. If you have a medical condition or are taking a prescription, you continue seeing the doctor managing it.
- It’s not a hard sell. Dr. Tony will give you the available options from the most conservative to the most involved. You pick what fits your lifestyle and budget.
What Does Nutritional Counseling Cost
Nutrition plans vary because they are designed based on your goals. Dr. Tony will tell you what your plan involves before you commit to anything. Because cost is the number one issue for new patients, we always handle it up front.
We take HSA and FSA cards, CareCredit, Cherry, cash, and credit cards, and payment plans are available, including options with no interest. You may see our payment plans page to study your options or start with the $29 new patient visit to get the whole picture of what you want.
Nutritional Counseling FAQs
What is the wellness survey?
The wellness survey covers your symptoms, what you’ve been struggling with, and what your goals are. This is just the starting point because a plan can only be built when we know your goals.
After you complete answering it, you and Dr. Tony will talk about your answers before any plan is built.
Do you ship the nutritional products to me?
Yes. After the plan is set, we’ll send you the products. There’s nothing to pick up at the office or buy at a store. It removes the common reason people don’t succeed in following their plan.
Is there an app to follow the nutrition plan?
Yes, there’s an app and a website that you can use to follow the plan. They give you complete control and tell you what to do exactly every day. You don’t have to try remembering what you were supposed to be doing.
We deliberately designed it that way so you can follow the instructions. Compliance is what makes nutrition work, and it’s a lot easier when the instructions are conveniently provided.
Can nutrition help with neuropathy?
It’s one of the three parts of the neuropathy approach, along with electrical stimulation to retrain the nerve to fire signals and red light therapy to boost blood flow. Nutrition is necessary to provide the nerves with what they need to repair.
Most neuropathy cases are caused by diabetes, and this is the reason nutrition matters a lot. If you’re diabetic, you keep your prescribing doctor in the loop.
Can you help with weight goals?
This comes up often, and yes, nutritional counseling can help with your weight loss goals. It’s partly because general health affects how quickly people recover from the musculoskeletal issues that caused them.
But you won’t get a crash program or extreme restriction. The plan is designed around your goals and what you can sustain. In this way, you won’t abandon the plan in three weeks.
Will a nutrition plan replace my medications?
No, and you should not stop taking your medications based on what you read here. This decision belongs to your prescribing doctor.
Tell us what you take so we’ll design your plan around it. Nutritional support and medical management are meant to complement each other, not compete.
What is leaky gut?
This is a term that refers to a cluster of digestive complaints. The idea behind it is that the gut lining becomes more permeable than it should be. It’s one of the things that people visit our office for, and it’s one of the areas that our nutritional plans are built around.
If you have ongoing digestive issues, you must get a medical evaluation first. Persistent gut problems need a real workup.
How is this different from a generic diet plan online?
A generic plan is written for a group of people. Our nutritional plan is built after you have answered your symptoms and knowing your goals.
The other difference is follow-through. Products are delivered to your door, and the daily plan is in the app. Most online plans will just give you the information, hoping you’ll follow the plan.
