Find Out If Your Knee or Shoulder Responds, For $49

What It Treats

Joints That Stopped Healing

10minutes per session

A joint that has hurt for months is usually one where the body gave up on repair. SoftWave sends acoustic waves into the tissue to restart that process. Most commonly used here for:

How SoftWave Works
What Happens

Your First Session, Start to Finish

Many patients who come specifically for SoftWave go straight to the SoftWave room after a quick exam and start treatment the same day.

01

Quick Exam First

Dr. Tony hears the history and examines the joint, because even a straightforward case needs to be the right case for this tool.

02

Gel and Stylus

It works much like an ultrasound visit. Gel goes on, and a stylus delivers acoustic waves into the targeted tissue.

03

About Ten Minutes

Non-invasive with low to no side effects. Some patients notice mild swelling for a day or two afterward, which settles.

04

An Honest Read

Chronic joints usually need six to ten sessions, and you will hear that plainly rather than being sold a package on day one.

Since it is a low risk profile, trying it out one or two times to see if it actually helps is not out of the question for almost anybody.

Before You Book

Two Things Worth Knowing First

SoftWave has a short list of exceptions, and it is better to know them now than at the front desk.

Pacemakers

SoftWave is not used anywhere near a pacemaker. Tell us if you have one and we will discuss other options.

Recent Cortisone Shots

A joint that has had a cortisone injection waits at least three weeks before that area is treated. Bring your injection dates.

When It Is Not the Answer

A joint that popped and swelled after trauma needs imaging first. Those cases get referred, not treated.
